OCAJI hosted CICA Spring Board-Council Meeting, Tokyo, June 12-13, 2017

The Overseas Construction Association of Japan Inc. (OCAJI) hosted the CICA Spring Board-Council Meeting & Side events in Tokyo on June 12-13, 2017. Obayashi Corporation & OCAJI President, Toru Shiraishu, FIIC President Ricardo Platt and FIEC President Jean-Louis Marchand were present. Representatives from most chambers and federations member of CICA and several European Contractors also participated in these events in Tokyo.

In the margins of the Board-Council meeting, side events focused mainly on the concept of Quality Infrastructure – concept introduced by the G7 in Ise-Shima in 2016.

OCAJI Executive Fellow Hidetoshi Togawa’s prsentation about Japan’s Concept of Quality Infrastructure Investment.

OCAJI General Manager Kazayuki Yahara’s presentation about OCAJI’s Network – Domestic and International.

Meetings were organized with representatives from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Asian Development Bank and high level officers from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan including a courtesy visit of Mr. Shinji MOURI, Vice-Minister for Infrastructure and Mr. Yasuki KAIBORI, Deputy Vice-Minister for Construction, Engineering and Real Estate Industry.

The CICA delegation also visited the Shimizu Institute of Technology and could learn about very advanced building technologies related to seismic resilience.

During this two-day event the CICA delegation met with many representatives from Obayashi Corporation, Taisei Corporation and Takenaka Corporation.
