FIEC General Assembly – Limassol, Cyprus

The European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) held its General Assembly in Limassol, Cyprus, from May 11th to May 13th.

This three-day event was hosted by the Cyprus Federation OSEOK.

In the framework of the General Assembly, a conference was held on the subject of “Sustainable Construction to tackle climate change”. This conference addressed key issues such as the reduction of energy consumption and waste, the use of renewable and recyclable resources, the implementation of circular economy in the construction sector as well as on how to create environmentally friendly workplaces.

During the GA, CICA President Irwin Perret took the opportunity to present CICA’s activity report and announce the next CICA General Assembly taking place in Tel Aviv the week following.

Further to the FIEC General Assembly meeting, the Irish contractor Philip CRAMPTON was elected new President of the European Construction Industry Federation, at the head of the newly elected Steering Committee.

Philip Crampton succeeds the German contractor Thomas Bauer, whose term of office has come to its statutory end.
